HHSAA Foreign-Student Eligibility Committee
There is no doubt that Hawaii is the melting pot of the Pacific. Due to its diverse ethnic population and central location in the
Pacific basin, Hawaii sees a number of foreign students coming into its member‐school athletic programs.
Countries have different age and enrollment requirements, or may play sports during differing times of the year than Hawaii interscholastic programs. The HHSAA Foreign‐Student Eligibility Committee is tasked with creating policies that are inclusive to incoming foreign students, while making sure that those students do not have an unfair playing advantage, and are eligible according to the HHSAA rules and regulations for participation.
