HIGH SCHOOL BOYS INVITATIONAL

March 6 - 8, 2015

ALOHA,

INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE TOURNAMENT ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1. SCHEDULE:

    Friday, March 6, 2015
          i. 4:30 PM Coaches Meeting
          ii. The first match will start promptly at 5:00 PM
    Saturday, March 7, 2015 & Sunday, March 8, 2015
         i. The first match will start promptly at 8:00 AM.

2. PLAYING SITE(S): McKinley High School & Farrington High School (if needed)

3. ENTRY FEE:
Hawaii Teams $200.00
Non-Hawaii Teams* $250.00
*Due to NFHS Sanction requirements

Certified/Cashier’s Checks/Money Orders/Purchase Orders ONLY. NO PERSONAL CHECKS. Payable to: “MCKINLEY HIGH SCHOOL”

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION & ENTRY FEE: FRIDAY – February 20, 2015.

1. RULES:


    2014-2015 National Federation of High School Sports Volleyball Rules
    Uniform or numbered jerseys are required

2. FORMAT:

    WARM-UPS:
         i. Total of six (6) minutes - each team will have 3 minutes use of the entire court.
         ii. NO SHARED HITTING IS ALLOWED.
         iii. NO DIGGING ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE IS ALLOWED.
         iv. The time between sets is three minutes.
    Pool Play:
         - Match - each match will consist of two sets, first 21 points
         - Each team will be allowed one 60-second timeout per set.
         - Tie-Breaker:
              - head-to-head match
              - total pool points
              - coin toss
    The teams will be re-seeded based on won-loss record following the conclusion of pool play.
    Semi-finals, Consolation, and Championship Rounds:
         - Match
              - each match will be one set 25 points, deuce, no cap. Format subject to change based
                on number of entires.
              - Each team will be allowed to 60-second timeout per set.

3. OFFICIALS
The OIVOA will provide top officials. The teams are assigned to provide the remainder of the officials for all three courts. Assignments are as follows:

First number, i.e. 5 = second referee + line judge (1); total 6 people
Second number, i.e., 7 = scorekeeper, a Libero Tracker/score board operator, line judge (1); total 9 people
