HHSAA Division II BASEBALL: No. 1 Waimea 5, Waialua 1

Mikeo Rita allowed one run over five innings, and batted 2-for-4 with a double and triple as the Menehune beat the Bulldogs.

Rita, a senior right-hander, allowed five hits, walked none and struck out four. He picked off two runners.

Bj Freitas finished up with two perfect innings for Waimea.

Menehune lead-off hitter Jordan Kamakea tripled in two runs in the fourth, and Mikey Rita and William Ogawa, who courtesy ran for Mikeo Rita, each scored twice.

Waimea plays Kamehameha-Hawaii in the semifinals Thursday at 10 a.m. at Les Murakami Stadium.

Waialua plays Kalaheo in a consolation game Thursday at 9 a.m. at Hans L’Orange Park.
