Jeaney Garcia Rejoins PCA

"I am thrilled to have Jeaney back on our team," said PCA Founder and CEO Jim Thompson. "She is the best person to ensure PCA's growth and impact in Hawaii. Her energy, insight and depth and breadth of experience will be a tremendous asset to PCA-Hawaii and all the schools and youth sports organizations we serve."
In addition to running PCA's Los Angeles operation until 2006, Garcia has served as Athletic Director at that city's Brentwood School and as a coach and administrator at Illinois' Lake Forest Academy and LA's Webb Schools. She was a five-sport athlete for her Kansas high school and afterwards played basketball and competed in cross country for Kansas State University. She also played semi-professional basketball in France, Australia, and LA, and ran for Nike's elite sponsored running team, "The Janes". Always interested in giving back to her community, she has coached numerous youth sports teams, from 5-year-olds to varsity athletes, and rounded out her experience by becoming a certified official for several sports. "I am committed to helping all kids in Hawaii get the very best experience from sports and reach their potential as athletes and people," Garcia said. "I see PCA as the most effective way to do that."
Garcia's role with PCA is largely focused on using youth and high school sports as a Development Zone™ by partnering PCA-Hawaii with schools and youth sports organizations to deliver training and education. This complements her role as the state's sportsmanship liaison for the Hawaii High School Athletics Association.
"I am excited that Jeaney has agreed to serve as sportsmanship liaison," said Chris Chun, HHSAA Executive Director. "By re-joining PCA, Jeaney is even better positioned to help HHSAA improve sportsmanship."
Said Positive Coaching Hawaii Chairman Chip Hammond: "Knowing Jeaney through her leadership role at Punahou, I have always been extremely impressed. As she joins our team, the future is very bright for PCA in Hawaii."
