New City Nissan named official title sponsor of the HHSAA
basketball state championships
HONOLULU – The Hawaii High School Athletic Association has announced a new title sponsor for the HHSAA boys and girls state basketball championships beginning this February. New City Nissan has signed a three-year commitment as a dual-sport title sponsor with the addition of basketball to their already established volleyball title sponsorship.
“The HHSAA is very fortunate to have New City Nissan expand its partnership with us,” said HHSAA Executive Director Chris Chun. “New City Nissan recognizes the importance of high school athletics in Hawaii, and this shows it is committed to supporting the HHSAA and our student-athletes. Thank you New City Nissan for your continued support of high school athletics.”
"We are excited about the opportunity to expand our support of the HHSAA by including the sponsorship of the boys' and girls' state basketball championships,” said New City Nissan President John Uekawa. When you think of all the epic state tournaments in the past, we really feel that it is an honor for us to now be involved with it."
The girls’ basketball championship tips off Feb. 10th and runs through the 13th, while the boys’ tournament takes place Feb. 25th through the 28th. Both tournaments will take place at various high school sites and conclude at the Stan Sheriff Center on the lower campus of the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
