2018 Hall of Honor Class Announced


The Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association is proud to announce the 2018 Class of Inductees into the Enterprise Rent-a-Car/HHSAA Hall of Honor:

  • Saydee Aganus, Kamehameha-Hawaii (volleyball, basketball, track and field)
  • Teniya Alo, Kahuku/Hawaii Technology Academy (wrestling, judo)
  • Corey Cabanban, St. Louis (wrestling)
  • Andre Ilagan, Farrington (tennis)
  • Taegan Keep, Kauai (basketball, track and field, volleyball)
  • Gwen Maeha, Leilehua (bowling, softball)
  • Cherilyn Molina, Konawaena (volleyball, basketball, track and field)
  • Taysia Pimentel, Seabury Hall (canoe paddling, soccer, track and field)
  • Mikayla Tablit, Konawaena (volleyball, basketball, track and field)
  • Ally Wada, Hawaii Baptist (volleyball, basketball, track and field)
  • Ryan Wilcox, Punahou (volleyball, kayaking)
  • Veronica Winham, Seabury Hall (cross country, swimming, track and field)

These 12 outstanding senior student-athletes were selected by a 14-person committee of current and former sports reporters, athletic directors and coaches from around the state. The criteria is based mainly on athletic achievement but character, sportsmanship, academic record and community service also are taken into consideration.
 
Each inductee also will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship courtesy of the HHSAA and Enterprise Holdings, which owns and operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent-A-Car brands.
 
The student-athletes will be formally inducted at an HHSAA Awards Banquet at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3 at Dole Cannery's Pomaika'i Ballroom. For ticket information, please call (808) 800-4092.
 
The Hall of Honor program has been recognizing the top 12 Hawai‘i senior student-athletes each year since 1983.

Founded in 1956, the Hawaii High School Athletic Association is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) educational athletic organization exclusively dedicated to serving 96 public and independent member high schools statewide, as they work cooperatively to support and promote athletics as part of the high school education program. As the umbrella organization of high school athletics, the HHSAA operates 44 state championships in 18 different sports, establishing consistent standards and rules for competition, in addition to providing professional development opportunities for coaches and athletic administrators.
