-- HHSAA, 49ers and USA Football to host free youth football camp in Honolulu on May 17 --
The 49ers today announced that the organization will underwrite the entire cost of the Hawaii High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) middle school and high school coaches training through USA Football’s Heads Up Football program in 2019.
This upcoming season marks the second of a two-year commitment by the 49ers to finance Heads Up Football training for coaches of the HHSAA’s nearly 100 middle and high school football programs. Approximately 800 Hawaiian coaches completed Heads Up Football training in 2018 as a result of the 49ers pledge.
To formally announce and celebrate the continued partnership, the HHSAA, the 49ers and USA Football will host a fun and free youth football camp at the Spalding Boys and Girls Clubhouse in Honolulu on Friday, May 17, from 3-5 p.m. HT (details below).
USA Football, a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee and the sport’s national governing body, will conduct Heads Up Football clinics across Hawaii this summer. Coaches will receive Heads Up Football’s curriculum either in-person or digitally, consisting of the following material:

Heads Up Football has earned the support of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Combined, these three organizations comprise more than 50,000 members spanning 90 countries. Nine of the 10 largest U.S. public school districts – and 16 of 20 largest – enrolled in the USA Football program on either high school and/or middle school levels in 2018.
