Lloyd-hisakaHONOLULU, HI – Lloyd Hisaka, a legendary figure in Hawaii officiating, has been selected for induction into the 2025 class of the National High School Hall of Fame. His selection in the officials category recognizes his more than 50 years of dedicated service and profound impact on high school and collegiate sports.

Hisaka’s contribution to Hawaii athletics extends far beyond the football field and basketball courts. For decades, he has been a mentor and educator, shaping the next generation of officials by teaching college students the fundamentals of officiating as part of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Intramural Sports program.

“Lloyd Hisaka’s dedication to the integrity of sports and his commitment to developing officials has left an indelible mark on Hawaii athletics,” said former HHSAA Director of Information Natalie Iwamoto, who was Hisaka’s nominator of the award and currently serves with him on the Hawaii Sports Officials Hall of Fame Board of Directors. “His passion for officiating, combined with his unwavering commitment to teaching and mentoring, makes him a truly deserving inductee into the National High School Hall of Fame.”

Hisaka’s impressive resume includes serving on the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) football rules committee and being honored as an NFHS distinguished official. On the field, he has officiated collegiate and high school football and basketball games since 1976, earning respect for his fairness, knowledge, and professionalism.
