Both Iolani and Punahou HAD to win this game. The intensity the night before, when Iolani lost to Kamehameha in a very tight game, was extremely high. But it was definitely turned up another notch for this one.
Iolani started out cold as Punahou raced to a 6-0 lead. But, as the game progressed, the Raider passing became very crisp and accurate. The shooting then started to click with top scorer Jamie Smith leading the way, both from the field and from the charity stripe. The game remained close until the middle of the last quarter when the Raiders pulled away.
Final score, 49-39. Iolani and Kamehameha are now tied at the top of the ILH with only 2 losses. Punahou drops a little further behind with 4 losses.
