'Iolani scored on its first five possessions and limited Hawai'i Prep to just 45 yards of total offense in the first half Saturday afternoon en route to a 44-6 nonleague victory at Eddie Hamada Field.

The Raiders, who began the season with narrow wins over Konawaena (43-40) and Waipahu (35-34), improved to 3-0. Ka Makani fell to 0-2.

'Iolani jumped out to a 7-0 lead just three minutes into the game after Kody Mento's 16-yard run, then recovered the ensuing pooch kickoff and struck again one play later with Reece Foy throwing a 26-yard touchdown pass to Tanner Nishioka.

Mento scored on a 9-yard run, and Jordan Genovia connected on the extra point and then a 41-yard field goal at the end of the first quarter to make it 24-0.

Backup quarterback Easton Tsubata made it 30-0 on a 10-yard keeper with 8:43 remaining in the first half, and Yuuya Kato's 57-yard TD scamper helped the Raiders go up, 37-0, at the end of the third quarter.
