Privacy & Cookies
Last updated:
The Hawaii High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) operates hhsaa.org. This notice explains information processed when you browse the website.
Website operation
Our hosting systems process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, request times, and browser information to deliver the website and diagnose problems. We also use Rollbar for error monitoring; error reports may include technical information about the request that encountered a problem.
Cookies and your choices
We use CookieYes to record your cookie preferences. Necessary cookies support essential website functions and consent management. Optional cookies depend on your choices. The cookie settings describe the cookies identified on this website and their lifetimes.
to review or withdraw your choices. If the settings do not open, check whether your browser is blocking CookieYes. You can also manage stored cookies through your browser settings.
Traffic measurement
We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic. If you decline analytics cookies, Google still receives limited cookieless usage measurements, including information about pages visited and your browser. This does not mean that no information is sent to Google.
Accepting analytics cookies enables additional visit measurement. We disable Google Signals and advertising personalization for this site's analytics tag.
Advertising
Infolinks advertising loads only after you grant advertising consent. Infolinks and its advertising partners may then use cookies and similar technologies to deliver and measure advertisements.
Withdrawing advertising consent prevents future loading of Infolinks. It does not necessarily remove cookies previously stored by other websites.
See Infolinks' Privacy Policy.
Third-party content and services
Some pages include third-party content, such as social-media widgets, videos, fonts, and other externally hosted resources. Loading these resources can disclose technical information, including your IP address and browser information, to their providers. Not every external resource uses optional cookies.
Our hosting, analytics, advertising, consent-management, and error-monitoring providers process information to provide their services. Providers may process information outside your country. External websites linked from hhsaa.org have their own privacy practices.
Retention
- Server logs: retained for 30 days. Backup copies may retain those logs for up to an additional 30 days, so complete removal can take up to 60 days.
- Google Analytics: detailed event data is retained for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months. The user-data retention period restarts when a user returns and generates new activity. Aggregated statistical reports may be retained longer.
- Consent records: CookieYes keeps consent records separately from the preference cookie in your browser. Its published consent-log access periods depend on the subscription: up to 1 year on the Free plan and up to 5 years on paid plans.
- Error reports: Rollbar has separate retention periods determined by the account plan and settings. These reports are not covered by the server-log retention period above. Contact us for information about the current setting.
See CookieYes's consent-record documentation and Rollbar's retention documentation. Withdrawing cookie consent changes future processing; it does not automatically erase information already collected by these services.
