UH Sports Media RelationsKeisha Kanekoa had 31 points and nine rebounds to lead Honoka`a over top-seeded Roosevelt 53-45 in a quarterfinal game of the Hawaiian Airlines HHSAA Division I Girls Basketball Championship Wednesday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Honoka`a (14-3) will face two-time defending state champion Punahou in the semifinals tomorrow. Kanekoa ended the game 9-for-15 from the field and 12-for-15 from the free-throw line, adding three assists, two steals and a block. Jessika Lorenzo added seven points and five rebounds, going 5-for-6 on free throws.
Roosevelt (14-2) will face Lahainaluna Thursday. The Roughriders were led by Iwalani Rodrigues, who posted 17 points and 10 rebounds. Tasia Kamakawiwoole added 11 points and seven rebounds, while Dianna Zane added six points and five steals.
