UH Sports Media RelationsKamehameha-Hawaii captured the 2007 Hawaiian Airlines HHSAA Division II Girls Basketball Championship with a resounding 57-30 win over Sacred Hearts Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center. It’s the second Division II championship for the Warriors in the last three years.
Kamehameha-Hawaii trailed just once, 5-4, in the game’s opening minutes. After that it was all Warriors as they shot 57 percent in the first half to take a comfortable 32-16 lead at the break. They build their lead to as many as 29 in the second half to cruise to victory.
Ashlee Kalauli led the Warriors (15-3) with 14 points, while Nalani Bayne scored a team-high 10 for the Lancers (15-1), who suffered their only loss of the season.
