In the earlier boys’ race, Kamehameha senior Davis Kaahanui wins his second-consecutive state championship, with a time of 15:47.51, helping the Kapalama campus to their fourth team title in five years under Coach Steve Jenness.
Today’s race also marks the first year division II team champions and runners-up are recognized.
Of the 18 qualifying boys teams, four competed in the Division II bracket – Honokaa (BIIF), KS-Hawaii (BIIF), Kapaa (KIF) and Seabury Hall (MIL).
Honokaa boys earned the runner-up Division II hardware with a total score of 277, and finishing 12th in the overall field.
The Seabury Hall boys took home the first-ever Division II championship title with a total score of 265, finishing 11th overall.
