HHSAA FOOTBALL: State football championships tickets on sale this week
Tickets for the First Hawaiian Bank Football State Championships doubleheader go on sale Monday, Nov. 19 at Aloha Stadium, all Oahu First Hawaiian Bank branch locations, as well as the Lahaina and Kahana, Maui branches to accommodate Lahainaluna fans.
Ticket prices at the Aloha Stadium box office are $12.00 general admission and $5.00 for students grades K-12 and seniors ages 62 and over.
Title sponsor First Hawaiian Bank is helping to alleviate long lines by selling special discounted general admission tickets for $9.00 at their Oahu branch locations and the Lahaina and Kahana branches during their business hours. FHB accepts cash, checks (including non-FHB checks), Visa Card, Master Card, and travelers checks. Senior and student tickets will not be sold at FHB branches.
The HHSAA and Aloha Stadium are encouraging football fans to buy their tickets before Friday to avoid long lines to purchase tickets then enter the stadium. Unlike UH football games, many fans purchase tickets on the day of the event.
“The HHSAA would like to thank First Hawaiian Bank for allowing their branches to sell general admission championship game tickets at this special price,” said Chris Chun, executive director of the HHSAA. “We appreciate First Hawaiian Bank’s long standing support of Hawaii’s high school student athletes, particularly through their title sponsorship of football and canoe paddling state championships.”
The championship doubleheader takes place Friday, Nov. 23 at Aloha Stadium. The Division II championship game, featuring No. 2 Lahainaluna versus No. 1 Iolani, kicks off at 4:00 p.m. The Division I championship game will follow at 7:00 p.m. with No. 2 Punahou versus No. 1 Kahuku.
Aloha Stadium’s main box office is open Monday through Wednesday this week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Friday (game day) from 9:00 a.m. to halftime of the Division I championship game. Satellite box offices 5 & 8 will be open on game day from 3:00 p.m. Aloha Stadium accepts cash only for all ticket sales.
Both the Aloha Stadium box office and all First Hawaiian Bank branch locations will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, in observance of Thanksgiving.
