By Edward JacksonIn DivisionII action at Kalani High School in Honolulu, Saint Francis of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu won its opening match in the New City Nissan/HHSAA Girls Volleyball State Championship over Ka’u of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation, Wednesday, October 27th.
The Troubadours won in straight sets by the scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-13 to improve their record to 11-8. The win enabled Saint Francis to advance to the next round where they will battle number two seed Molokai this Thursday, October 28th at 5:00 p.m. at Kalani.
Molokai entered the tournament with a 9-0 record from the Maui Interscholastic League. The Farmers are led by outside hitter Kalei Adolpho.
